The Factory, Building 8
230 Franklin Rd #801 | Franklin, TN 37064
Building 8 is located at the Factory in Franklin, TN. The Factory is a renovated circa-1929 group of buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and, in later years, the Jamison Bedding Company. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. This landmark is now the home of a unique shopping, dining and entertainment complex. It is located only blocks from downtown Franklin and a few minutes from Cool Springs Galleria Mall.
The Factory is rich with history and very careful renovation has preserved many of the original features and architecture. The Factory is the realization of the vision of owner Calvin Lehew. Calvin’s philosophy is simple: “the Factory is for artists and creative folks. What I want to do is bring out more of the artist in people. I want an environment here that is conducive to creativity. We have about 11 learning centers here. To be able to open a place in the Factory it either has to be creative, unique, artistic, musical or food. We have five restaurants here. Even our offices here fit that theme.” In keeping with the unusual creative and artistic emphasis, 16,000 square feet of Building 8 is home to a unique church.
